Inspired by Washi Tape

Months ago I got a pack of narrow washi tapes, and some of them were so cute that I decided to do some art pieces inspired by them.

I picked three of the tapes, and did some basic preliminary sketch ideas.

The next day I did the first two pieces. This one is a little weird looking, but still kinda cute.

And this one I completely adore.

Then I forgot about the project for months. I know. What a surprise.

Eventually I settled down to finish the project and couldn’t find that third washi tape. So I got out my drawer of a lot of washi tapes and picked another one, that was almost the same.

Then I drew this gorgeous girl, using a metallic marker for the dots and for her shoes.

When I was rooting through that drawer of washi tapes I spotted this one too, that instantly inspired me. So I did a bonus one. It just screamed to be made into a jumper.

Do you include washi tape in your art? I’m interested to see how you do it.
