My First Kickstarter

My First Kickstarter

I really should have written this blog post a month ago, but brain-things happened, so I'm doing it for the last few days of the campaign instead.

October has been my first ever Kickstarter, and there are still three days left!

It's already fully funded, and my first stretch goal has been unlocked.  I'm so very proud and overwhelmed and happy, and if there isn't another penny added I'm still really satisfied.  But I figured I should have a document of it here on the blog at least somewhere.

---

I didn't know how to introduce myself on my story, so I just said that I didn't know.

This was the start of a campaign that was most definitely written in my voice.

I promoted my Instagram lives:

I explained what washi tape is and how to use it, including a collage of pictures.  With help from some friends.

My initial goal was £550 to get six washi designs produced.

And I hit that goal 9 days in!  I'm so happy and excited.

The next goal was for three more designs at £750, and that unlocked 12 days in.

As well as various amounts of washi tape to pledge for, I've also got a Kickstarter Exclusive Limited Edition Mini Alien Collection.

And I've got freebies, obviously.  Everyone gets a free holo sticker - a rainbow version of my mini alien sticker.

And when we hit 25 backers (we're now at 36) I unlocked a free bookmark for everyone too.

And there are all kinds of add ons as well.  You can get extra freebies, extra washi, an extra Backer Buddy, or some of these line up stickers.

I'm having trouble expressing how excited I am about this Kickstarter.  How many times in this blog post have I used the word "happy" or "excited"?  Not just having the actual washi, but about the support I've received.  Thank you so much to everyone who pledged, or shared, or looked, or who just listened to me talking about it.

The campaign ends in 68 hours (as I write this), and I will be posting lots of updates and behind the scenes bits on my Instagram.  Make sure to join me over there.
