Well, I suppose that since Pantone is an American company is should be the Color of the Year.

When I saw this on Facebook in December last year my first thought was “ooo, that’s a pretty colour”. My second thought was “ooo, excuse for art/blog”.

So naturally it sat in my To Do folder for months. Until March, when I used it while doing a Scribble Into Art challenge. Here’s my Very Peri dragon beast thing.

And here’s the video I took from the handy Procreate function, to show how I turned the scribble into a dragon.

If you watch closely, you can see the terrifying rabbit that I almost went with.

That’s not the end of the Pantone Colo(u)r of the Year though.

When I was looking through the folder of pictures and notes for this blog post, I found this one.

The Reneeissance Colours Countdown to Christmas advent palette was going to get its own blog post, until the not-culling that I mentioned the other day. The short story is that they make epic handmade paints, and I have several of their dot sampler palettes, and I couldn’t resist their advent palette last year. It was very awesome.

Now I have to do a Very Peri watercolour piece. Obviously. Stay tuned. Hopefully it won’t take me years.
